Trim Levels

The Elantra GT has a starting MSRP of $18,800. On the outside, you'll enjoy stylish standard features like a chrome front grille, rear spoiler, and solar control glass. You'll also get conveniences such as power and heated bodycolor side mirrors, variable intermittent windshield wipers, a rear wiper, and projector headlights that have a 15-second welcome feature and 30-second departing feature. All of this sits on top of standard 16-inch steel wheels, or you can upgrade to the optional 17-inch alloy wheels.


Under the hood of the Elantra GT you'll find a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter engine that has 154 pound-feet of torque and 173 horsepower. The vehicle comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive. There's also an optional package that will let you upgrade to the six-speed automatic transmission that uses on-board computer modeling to map your surroundings and provide improved fuel economy.


The Elantra GT has a 13.2-gallon fuel tank. Regardless of whether you choose the manual or automatic transmission, you'll get an EPA-estimated 24 miles per gallon (mpg) in the city, 32 mpg on the highway, and 27 mpg combined.


Inside the Elantra GT you'll find standard features like air conditioning, power doors and windows, cloth seats with six-way driver seat adjustment, illuminated vanity mirrors, a 60/40 split fold-down rear seatback, center armrest with cupholders and storage, cooled glove box, illuminated ignition, a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel that includes Bluetooth, audio, and cruise controls, six-speaker audio system, auxiliary and USB input jacks, and a multifunction trip computer.

Choose to add the Value Edition Package and you'll also get leather seats, heated front seats, leather-wrapped shift knob and steering wheel, 10-way power driver seat adjustment with lumbar support, push button start, proximity entry key, and driver's side auto-up window.

Or, opt to upgrade to the Tech Package, which requires the Value Edition Package. Then you'll also get a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone automatic temperature control, aluminum pedals, rearview camera, 7-inch touchscreen navigation system, ventilated front seats, side mirrors with integrated turn-signal indicators, and a hidden cargo-area storage compartment in the back of the car.

Safety Features

The Elantra GT comes with plenty of active and passive safety features to help you and your passengers feel secure. Each vehicle comes standard with vehicle stability management, traction control system, electronic stability control, brake assist, electronic brake-force distribution, anti-lock braking system, tire pressure monitoring system, front and rear crumple zones, and an energy-absorbing steering column.

There are air bags throughout the entire vehicle, including a driver's knee airbag, driver and front passenger side-impact and advanced front airbags, and side-curtain airbags for front and rear passengers. Finally, if you're traveling with young children there's also a rear LATCH system to secure a child's seat.
